LESSON 11

PERSONAL PROTECTION AND DATA PROTECTION →Hello again!!! in today's class we have learned about personal data protection. Next we will talk about information that we all need to know when using devices. Nowadays we use technologies and devices for everything, that's why we should know that we are exposed to have our accounts hacked. We have to be careful when putting passwords or user numbers on pages that are not very secure.  Installing things like Antivirus or Malware Detection Tool will allow us to stay away from this type of hackers. Since there are malicious programs that seek to obtain personal data and money. It is also advisable to renew passwords from time to time and not to use the same password for all accounts. In addition to this, it is also advisable to use secure passwords, which are those that contain a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, as well as numbers.  Another thing we can do to avoid obtaining our data is to delete cookies, because every time

INNOVATIVE AND CREATIVE USE OF

 DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY: RESEARCHING IN EDUCATION

Hi everyone!! today's class dealt with the use of digital technology to achieve research in education.

If we want to do research, an example of steps to follow would be:

  1. detect a need. For example, let's imagine that students find a topic that has been seen in class very boring and it does not motivate them.
  2. we will have to think about whether it can be solved without technology.
  3. if we see that the technology is beneficial, we will use it.
  4. we will search the internet for any resource whether it is an application or a platform that helps us explain better.

Following these steps, today's exercises consist of creating two activities related to our group theme, as you know, ours is pet animals.

For the fist activity we have to create a live worksheet on  https://es.liveworksheets.com/. First of all we had to make a PowerPoint slide so that the application would let us do an exercise of joining pictures. Here is an image of my exercise and the link to it Dog's body parts.

For the second activity I did, I used the https://gamilab.com/ website. This page allows you to create different types of activities such as multiple choice, memory games, etc. You can register as a teacher to have access to several games, or as a student. To find this page I searched in the Google Chrome search engine "interactive game maker".

The activity I did consisted of answering a series of multiple choice questions, the objective is to reach the top of the mountain. There is a timer in the upper left corner that allows us to see the time it takes to answer all the questions.

It also allows you to share the code of the activity so that your students can play and finally it creates a ranking with the points, the time spent and the name of each student.

I searched the google search engine for "interactive game maker for teachers". The first page that appears is https://www.tinytap.com/ which is another one I used. This site allows you to create multiple activities from zero and you can choose the characters for your activity. In addition, you can also see the activities that other teachers have created and even interact with them and have your students use them.

I decided to make a puzzle from a scene I created. However you have many more options of activities as you can see in the following image.

You can cut any shape to the size you want, plus you can add a recording of your own voice so that when the student fits the piece incorrectly you can give him a hint.
